I'm currently using Omega-3 fatty acids, and want to know if the brand I'm using is trustworthy?
I am using Natrol brand. The nutritional information found on this link: http://www.natrol.com/prodhearthealth/omega3fishoil_prodinfo/ Is this a good brand? EPA is OK DHA?
Natrol is a very reputable brand, and the relationship between EPA DHA is standard.

The reason for not taking these meds with the alcohol is really because the meds will not work right or they may cause an unwanted reaction.
As far as the liver goes, the alcohol will get that in the end.

A look at the possible side effects produces the following:
headache – (symptom of dehydration)
swelling of your legs or ankles – (AKA "edema" – also a symptom of dehydration)
tiredness, extreme sleepiness – ("fatigue", "run down", "lack of energy" – dehydration)
stomach pain, nausea – (dehydration)
dizziness – ( dehydration)
flushing (hot or warm feeling in your face) – (dehydration)
arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat) – (dehydration)
heart palpitations (very fast heartbeat) – (dehydration)
Interestingly, one of the "rare" side effects (quoted from the company's website) is a heart attack or the worsening of angina – the very thing you're taking the medication for in the first place!
This the kind of thing that is making the drug companies and medical profession rich from people like you who want to be free of your health problems but get sucked into the fraudulent practices by those who you're supposed to trust.
You're dehydrated, and this is the cause of your hypertension. You've followed the medical advice to "drink plenty of fluids" and it's led to this. The fact is, "fluids" other than water contain sugars, caffeine and other additives that change their nutritional aspect, turning them into diuretics that actually pull out as much as 50% more water than they contain. This leads to dehydration. Doctors know this, but they don't tell you. There's no profit in prescribing water.
Also, you're told to stay away from salt – "it causes high blood pressure". No, it doesn't. Salt regulates the blood pressure by regulating the water in the blood. Dehydration removes water from the blood, and the salt that was contained in the blood becomes concentrated (less water). This is where doctors get the idea that too much salt causes hypertension. Actually, it's not "too much salt", it's "not enough water".
Promoting dehydration by "drinking plenty of fluids" causes the concentrated salt in the blood. But cutting back on salt doesn't solve the problem, although it should (take away the cause and the problem corrects itself). This is why medication is prescribed – to keep the blood thinned and free-flowing. And since it's usually prescribed for the life of the patient, it becomes a steady source of income for the drug companies.
