Best type of dog food with Hip Displaysia Sheltie?
My 1 year old Sheltie has displaysia Metacalm hip and is in once a day and glucosamine and chondroitin tablets daily WICE, which is costing about $ 100 a month. The vet also put him on Royal Canin food Moblity Support. What is also very expensive. I do not want to take away the medicine, but is there anything else I can feed the same ingredients that have similar that is cheaper? In Reply to Jennifer T, our puppy dog puppy mill was a resuce. I give my older dog glucosamine / chondroitin as well. has done a great difference.i buy mine at Walmart for $ 8 a bottle. is the pet section for vitamins.she used to obtain the twice a day, but upset the stomach so now its only once in the morning after eating. metacalm damage is not ligaments? I believe that glucosamine could cover this disease too.

There are joint supplements that you can add to her food and there are also special senior formula foods. You can also call your vet to get her on an anti-inflammatory medication for her arthritis. Also, I wouldn't suggest just putting down pillows – I would get something maybe that is firm with a pillow layer – they make therapeutic beds…and also some that warm to the touch that can really help her sore joints. Also, just laying around all day won't help her. Take your dog for short walks several times a day so that she is up and moving! She'll start feeling better soon.

Find a high-deductible policy. Mine is about $120 with a $5000 deductible, with Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield. It was much less than COBRA, though of course the COBRA policy would have had a much smaller deductible. Also though you will be responsible for the amount up to the deductible, the insurance company should be negotiating lower prices with the hospitals. It is important to continue some kind of coverage as you will at least limit your out-of-pocket expenses to your deductible amount and ensure that you have continuous coverage. If you have a break in coverage, you may not be able to buy insurance later if you develop a medical condition in the meantime. If you know your situation is temporary (i.e. need coverage between jobs) a temporary policy is often even cheaper, but not designed for long-term use. It is an good choice for recent grads between school and work too.
